Religion In School

Should religion be permitted in school? This has been a debate in Pubic Schools all over the United States. For as long as I can remember there has been a controversy about practicing your religion in a Public School. You may not think it’s a problem, but it is. It plays many roles from what should be taught at public schools to what can and cannot be worn. Every one of course has there own views about this situation. As of now religion is not permitted in Public Schools. Should this change?
Personally I think that religion should be permitted in schools to a certain extent. For example if a certain lesson includes religion it should be able to be taught because your not telling students to believe in it your just giving them the facts about it. I don’t have a problem with hearing about other religions because hearing about it doesn’t mean that I have to believe in it. I think a lot of people will try and say, “ that’s against my religion” just to get out of an assignment because a teacher cant make you do or learn something against your beliefs. A public school is open to the public and all religions, so you should be able to have an open mind to certain things. If you want to learn about things based on your own religion and will have problems hearing about new cultures and religions than you should go to a private school just for that religion.
Religion also plays a big role in many science classes. Intelligent design vs. Evolution. This also has been a big controversy in public schools about which one should be taught. I believe that which one you believe has a lot to do with your religion. For example most Christians believe in Creationism and not evolution. Other religions believe in evolution. If religion is not allowed in schools than both sides should be taught because just choosing one theory would be siding with that religion. So Basically I think religion should be allowed in schools to a certain extent.
